Set up an email account automatically
If using an email provider such as iCloud, Google, or Yahoo, Mail can automatically set up an email account with only your email address and password. Here's how:
- Go to Settings> Account & Password and tap Add Account. If you use iOS 10.3.3 or earlier, go to Settings> Mail> Account and tap Add Account.
- Tap your email provider. If the email provider isn't listed, tap More to manually add an account.
- Enter your email address and password.
- Tap Next and wait for Mail to verify your account.
- Select information from an email account, such as Contacts or Calendar, that you want to see on the device.
- Tap Save.
If you have to set up an e-mail account manually, make sure you know the e-mail settings for the account. If you don't know the e-mail settings, you can search for them or contact the e-mail provider. After that, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings> Account & Password and tap Add Account. If you use iOS 10.3.3 or earlier, go to Settings> Mail> Account and tap Add Account.
- Tap Other, then tap Add Mail Account.
- Enter your name, email address, password, and account description.
- Tap Next. Mail will try to find email settings and complete account settings. If Mail finds your e-mail settings, tap Done to complete the account configuration.
- Select IMAP or POP for the new account. If you don't know which one to choose, contact the email provider.
- Enter information for the Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server. After that, tap Next. If you don't have this information, try searching for settings or contact the email provider.
- If the email settings are correct, tap Save to complete.
If you still can't configure your e-mail account or save e-mail settings, contact the e-mail provider.
